- Well, the main point of my post was to say that the idea that man
- has dominion over nature couldbe traced to the Bible. I wasn't trying
- to pass any judgement on Christianity.
- But the Christian view, at least eminating from the book of Genesis, is
- that man has power over the world. Like I said before, it is his God-given
- right to control nature. Of course this doesn't mean that he has the right
- to abuse it; any intellegent Christian would see it as the opposite, that
- he has the duty to maintain it. But the idea of dominion has been abused
- by many Christians, and I think the author of the original quote believed that
- the best way to remedy this situation would be to get rid of the idea being
- abused. Not that I necessarily agree with her.

- P.S. Go ahead and quote my saying, "The greatest fools delight in caling
- others fool." I meant it to refer to myself -- the line damns whoever says
- it. That's why it's so beautiful. But I didn't write it...
