- We live in a competitive society. Our performance is rated in everything
- we do. Admit an error in judgement? NEVER! It's much more sensible to
- blame someone else. That's much easier if you make those decisions their
- responsibility from the start. Thus, in the eyes of most people, our
- government is responsible for anything that might go wrong. Burn me a
- couple of times and you'll probably see me make some rules about matches.

- Why does everyone always end up blaming politicians? Then mentality of
- the American people has forced politicians to evolve into what they are.
- Ugly as it may be, they are exactly what we (as in "We the people") want
- them to be. Granted, there is a minority of informed, educated people
- who would like to see politics transformed into a more intellectual
- sport. Unfortunately, in a democracy, a majority rules (sort of).
- Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone who voted spent the time to know and
- understand the issues; if the good of this country, and not one's own
- personal gains, were the determining criteria. Wouldn't it .... Oh Well.
-

-
- NO, IT'S REALITY.
-

-
- Unfortunately, that's an attitude taken by a great many people, until
- things go wrong. Then all you hear is "IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!" or
- "SOMEONE'S GOING TO PAY!". Then a teary-eyed jury, made up of
- ordinary citizens, not politicians, tosses common sense to the dogs
- and says "YES, THEY'RE GOING TO PAY!". Suddenly MY toys cost more.
- This isn't a concern for the injured party because victims of "Natural
- selection" seem to find new sources of wealth.
