Hello: I have a proposal that I hope will be of interest to many of you out
there who are interested in finding a significant other but have become tired
of the *noise* on groups like alt.personals. I'll try to keep it short,
sweet, and simple.

I was introduced to the net a couple of months ago and was delighted to find
that there are newsgroups such as alt.personals and alt.personals.ads whose
primary reason for existing, so I thought, was for people to solicit e-mail
correspondence from others; correspondence that may lead to mutually
satisfying friendships or more. Unfortunately, these groups appear to be
primarily for people to flame each other, post fake messages, etc. I'll not
be surprised if many people, especially women, have become *lurkers* and
cynics. I thought there must be other ways for people to find the kind of
friend, partner that they are looking for.

For the past couple of weeks I began contacting publishers of singles
newspapers and magazines across the USA. I asked them the following question:
What if I asked people on the net to send in their personal ads to me, I'll
compile them weekly and send them to these newspapers and magazines. I asked
the publishers whether they will be willing to publish your personal ads and
forward all responses to you WITHOUT CHARGING YOU A FEE? What is the
incentive for them to publish your ad for free? They collect a forwarding fee
(about $2) from those who respond to your ad. Your ad is published without
your address (a response code is assigned). I have reached agreement with 12
singles magazines so far and I am continuing arrangements or waiting to hear
from others.

In addition to the service just described above, I will also set up a
computer bulletin board that will be accessible by modem from any where in
the USA and Canada, for a modest fee (phone charge). When I receive your
personal ads, I will post them on the bulletin board, without your address,
and also send them to the magazines. Responses to your ad on the bulletin
board will be forwarded to you, by snail mail, at no charge to you. I should
have the bulletin board up and running as soon as I get the first couple
dozen ads or so.

HOW AND WHERE TO SEND YOUR ADS.
Type your ad on a sheet of paper. Include a snail mail address to which
responses to your ad will be forwarded. PLEASE, do not send me any ads by
e-mail. Do not use any abbreviations (SM, SF, etc) even if they seem like
very common abbreviations. I am not imposing any word limit on your ad, but
each newspaper or magazine will have the right to edit your ad as space
permits. You must be 18 yrs or older. Do not send in ads that are sexually
explicit!! It is okay to ask respondents to send you pictures since all
responses will be by snail mail.

There is no fee for this service, since this is an introductory message and
as a result of the noncommercial policy of the net. However, I run a small
data processing business and my employees do not work for free! So any
donnations will be appreciated. You may send cash, check, or money order,

application form to that address. I don't know what the telephone number for
the computer bulletin board will be. It's not been set up. I will not post
the number on the net, but if you are interested in accessing the bbs, send
