  16. These are the people who refuse to slow down, no matter how bad the roads 
  17. get. For instance, last month we had a pretty good winter storm and the
  18. roads were covered with ice. So, on the way home, I was cruising along
  19. at a nice 20 mph, because any faster and my truck refused to stop when
  20. I wanted to break. Most of the rest of the folks were doing about the same,
  21. as all we wanted was to get home and have a nice, big mug o' hot chocolate.
  22. Suddenly, Speed Racer cuts right in front of me, speeds up, cuts in front
  23. of the guy in the other lane, passes the guy in front of me, cuts in front
  24. of him and proceeds to skid off of the road and flip his car on the median.

  26.     The advantage to these people, I guess, is that you don't need
  27. the helicopter gunships to take care of them. They are often a self
  28. limiting problem. The helicopters with the electromagnets are a good
  29. idea for these people, however.

  31. ObPeeve: Last year, I peeved about the fact that the City of Albuquerque
  32. had decided to close my street between 6 and 9 times for construction.
  33. However, I was always able to get home, since they were only closing
  34. a section near my house, but it was still annoying going through all
  35. of the detours. Now, they have gone too far. They have now decided that
  36. ripping up a section of street 6+ times is plenty and they have moved
  37. down the street a bit. Now they are right in from of my house. Thus,
  38. I am no longer allowed to drive home. Now, I get to walk about a
  39. block to get there(This is not the peeve. I can handle walking a
  40. whole block. The peevesome bit is them closing the street.). And to
  41. make matters worse, this morning at 7:15am, they decided that this
  42. was the time to get the really big piece of equipment that rips up
  43. the pavement and beeps a lot and rip up the piece of pavement right 
  44. outside of my bedroom window.

  46. UnrelatedNote: Dan 'talk'ed at me last night complaining that I had
  47. defamed his character. So, I guess he, at least, is still among the
  48. living.
