- That in itself is a good reason. However, the issue isn't need for guns, but
- rather whether gun control laws are needed. I think the past 20 years have
- shown that gun control laws (with a few exceptions) serve only to disarm people
- in whose hands a gun is not a problem. Gun control laws deflect attention
- away from the real issue which is the growing number of people who choose
- to commit violent crimes (with a gun, knife, bare hands, or whatever). And I
- think the reasons for that are drugs, broken families, and a justice/
- rehabilitation system that just doesn't work.
