  18. That in itself is a good reason.  However, the issue isn't need for guns, but
  19. rather whether gun control laws are needed.  I think the past 20 years have
  20. shown that gun control laws (with a few exceptions) serve only to disarm people
  21. in whose hands a gun is not a problem.  Gun control laws deflect attention
  22. away from the real issue which is the growing number of people who choose
  23. to commit violent crimes (with a gun, knife, bare hands, or whatever).  And I
  24. think the reasons for that are drugs, broken families, and a justice/
  25. rehabilitation system that just doesn't work.
