- I have a few thoughts on this matter which I would like to share with
- you... Tahiti being a Francophone tropical island* I imagine that the
- behaviour of the inhabitants on the road is reasonably similar to that
- of the inhabitants of Reunion**.
-
- In which case, you are 100% right. They wouldn't let a little thing
- like 6m of snow influence their right to travel at 200 mph on a
- single-carriageway road. Hell, they don't let little things like
- juggernauts, floods, lava-flows, 200m cliffs, hairpin bends or traffic
- jams slow 'em down; a little bit of snow would be a *challenge* to their
- overdeveloped French egos.
-
- !Peeve; French egos. Vastly amusing, as are their perceptions of
- British culture (specifically British food).
-
- Eg. (French person shrugs and pulls revolted face) "You ingleesh you
- eat boiled meat and white sauce with *jam* for your dinner"***
-
- (ho ho ho! Extensive opportunities for Frog-baiting)
-
- *Ok - so it's not the island that speaks French but the people that live
- there.
-
- **Gratuitous "I've been to paradise and was paid for the privilege"
-
- ***Note for French people - what are you *ON*?!!
