- Well, I've actually written a program that does this. Now, don't laugh,
- I'm a level-headed cs-major with a strong objective interest in the
- paranormal. Anyways, I was inspired to write this program after reading
- several sources. Before you say CARP, here's one: OMNI 1988, "The Real
- Ghostbusters." Anyways, that's not the only one, but the only one
- I have here. Basically, the program will generate sets of 200 random
- numbers and take the mean. If it deviates too much from the theoretical
- mean consistently, then there is the POSSIBILITY of something influencing
- it. Unfortunately, after writing the program, I realized that computers
- use pseudo-RNG's so all the numbers that come out are always the same
- (depending on the seed, of course). I'm still on a search for a true-rng,
- but am told that the only ones are based on radioactive decay and are
- very expensive.. So much for that idea! I wonder if PEAR actually used
- a TRUE-RNG. I don't see how any psychic abilities could influence a
- pseudo-RNG. Any input, criticisms (helpful), or comments would be
- appreciated! :)
-
- Oh, FYI, I didn't intend the program to be used for psychokinesis testings,
- but rather for ghost-detection. But that's another story... In any case
- a true-rng is needed to see if it truly works...
