- Hmmmm. What I heard was that the Aramaic word in question means
- something like, "relative," which covers everything from cousins to siblings.
- Which means that they -may- have been his siblings. Or they may -not-
- have been his siblings or that some were and some weren't.
- But I wouldn't think the Jesus's siblings would get any special
- powers, etc out of this relationship, except maybe as brownie points. ("You
- know, Jesus, remember that time I beat up them bullies for you?", etc.)
- Now, ther's definite mythological basis (non-Judeo-Christian, of course)
- that if Jesus had any children, they would be . . . interesting or not.
- (this was often left to the choice of the descendant)
