- Hi folks
-
- My sweety and I are back from another road trip. I'll make this
- short because of the lack of responses to the previous one. If you
- guys want me to keep doing this, then you'll have to let me know!
-
- We went up to southern Washington state to visit friends (Hi Gren!)
- and bookstores and such, though my in-laws thought that we were
- there to go to a wedding. :-)
-
- While we were there, we went to one of the parks that Lynne used to
- go to as a kid. Of course, it was quite a bit different than she
- remembered it, but what do you expect after fifteen or more years.
- (She might object to the "of course" at the beginning of that
- sentence. Tough.) One of the neat things there was a small glade
- -- only about 80 square feet (7 1/2 square meters). It was soft,
- moist, and green like it had been the dance circle of a band of
- fairies the previous night. It was a pretty special place -- I wish
- I could give you all the feeling of the place!
-
- Later, we went to the beach and went looking for treasures. Lynne
- was looking for any kind of treasure that she found, and I was
- mostly looking for sand-dollars (only partly because of the
- discussion here about them a few months ago). When we'd been there
- a while, I saw the first LIVING sand-dollar that I've ever seen. I
- was really disappointed, since I didn't really expect to find any
- that I could take (it's a well-picked beach) and I couldn't do the
- selfish thing and take that one with me. But I consoled myself
- with the fact that I had seen a live one, and that it would live a
- little longer. It *was* rather interesting watching the little
- stickers/feet wiggle! The goddess provides, though -- there were a
- couple of obviously dead ones that I found later, along with
- another live one that also went back into the water. Well, for
- those who are concerned, there still are sand-dollars in Washington
- state. Lynne found a couple of shells that she intends to put on
- the altar and some others that she left in the beach cabin we were
- staying at.
-
- We drove down the coast of Oregon during the snow storm -- it was,
- well, interesting. Don't think I'll go down that coast in the snow
- again for a while. Stopped at a few of the metaphysical stores
- along the way, but didn't find anything really outstanding. The
- best store seemed to be "Crystal Wizard" in Lincoln City. If you
- like quartz and don't want to pay too much for it, that's the place
- to go.
-
- We also spent a couple of days in the redwoods parks in northern
- California. Gorgeous! It was right after a rain, so everything
- was at its greenest and the air was fresh and full of forest
- smells.
-
- Well, there was a lot more, but I'll close here to keep it short.
-
- Bear Blessings!

- Tribal Mother was old, and lay ill on a bed of moss and
- fern. Her hair was long and grey. Her face was very
- wrinkled. Tamura'nun-pa thought: How beautiful you
- are, Mother, so old and wise.
