- Here's one of my faves.
-
- Poppy Seed Cake
-
- 1 cup cooking oil
- 1 cup honey
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups whole-wheat flour
- 1 cup poppy seeds
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
-
- mix all ingredients together. place in a greased 9X15 inch pan. Bake in a
- preheated 350 degree oven for 40-45 minutes or until done.
-
- To wash it down, try this.
-
- Sage Wine
-
- 1 cup fresh sage
- 1/2 cup claret or burgundy wine (I like the burgundy myself)
-
- put the fresh sage and the wine into an electric blender and run it on high
- for a few minutes until the sage leaves are pulverized. Return the wine to
- its original bottle and chill *well* before drinking.
-
- I have a few more including a great but long one for Fertility Bread.
- Send me your e-mail address so I don't annoy others with yet another long
- post! (See catalogs! Lots of catalogs!)
-
- Blessed be, Lisa Ann, or she who is horrifyingly domestic in some
- ways.
