- Stacey,
- To my knowledge one symbolisim of the cat is that of a solar goddess.
- Note Bastet and Shekmet.
- Bastet is the cat-headed goddes, associated with the warm, lifegiving
- aspects of the sun... fertility, joy, ect.
- Shekmet is the lion-headded goddess, associated with the destructive aspects
- of the sun... driought famine, death, ect
- One place I have sseen claimed that artimes may have been modeled after bastet..
- Regardless... cats with thier reflective eyes have been linked with the sun.
- Also the moon.
- Thjey have been linked with fetility.. (oops read fertility)
- Because of thier.. ummm.. noisy matings...
- Jguar
- ack.. I really can't spell
