  18. I'd like to point out that a large number of North American Indians happen
  19. to be Christians, and this in no way conflicts with their "Indian-ness",
  20. but rather enhances and completes it in their view. While the hostility of
  21. a largely material culture to spirituality is not surprising, for those who may
  22. be interested in Indian ways it might be more productive not to jump to
  23. the conclusion that belittling Christianity establishes a common ground.
