- However great Dumezil is (and at least four of his books are available in trans
- lation), he is an INDO-EUROPEANIST. And the Greeks are not very representative
- of the Indo-Europeans (Dumezil studies the Roman rather than the Greek for this
- reason) and the Semetic peoples are not Indo-European. So note that Christian
- symbolism began as a Semitic/Greek mix primarily. By the way, Littleton is
- also excellent as is Lincoln on Indo-European materials
