  19. It really depends on your interpretation of getting it right
  20. first time.  The Jews of Jesus' day believed that Messiah would
  21. lead them to victory over the Romans so he failed.

  23. The Jews of today believe that Messiah has to rebuild the Temple
  24. and so on so again Jesus failed.  But if you believe SCRIPTURE   
  25. (and I do) then Messiah has to do the following:

  27. Offer himself as a sacrifice for sin (Isaiah 53)
  28. Be crucified (Psalm 22)
  29. Be cut off 69 x 7 years after the decree of Nehemiah (Dan 9, Neh1 & 2)

  31. then he succeeded.

  34. If all the Jews had believed in Jesus then they would have  a pretty hard
  35. time convincing the rest of the world that their prophecies were genuine,
  36. but the fact that the Jews dont believe is great.

  38. Example: A friend said to me "How do you know that the Old Testament
  39. prophecies were written down at least 400 years before the event?"

  41. My reply "Ask a Jew" (i.e. if they werenot then Judaism would be a 
  42. ponitless religion started by Christians)

  44. To end off: The fact that Jesus didnot fulfil all the Scriptures is 
  45. crucial in witnessing.  I have often said to people:

  47. "Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies of his first coming.  The prophecies
  48. of his second coming talk about the unbelievers being judged as 
  49. unrighteous and thrown into Hell.... Are you willing to take the risk
  50. that he WONT fulfil them?"
