  13. My note about performing in front of people was not meant to say that
  14. practicing in front of a mirror is not worth it. I guess what I meant
  15. to say (after reading my post, I didn't say this) is that after a
  16. point, practicing in front of a mirror won't make you a better
  17. magician, you need to practice performing.

  19. I also wanted to say (and didn't say in my post) that one shouldn't
  20. sweat over mirror practice. Practice until you are comfortable with an
  21. effect and then go out and perform. If you waited until you could do
  22. something perfectly, then you would never perform, you would spend all
  23. of your time practicing. How much practice is enough? It depends on
  24. the effect and your own ability.

  26. And yes, Harry Levine is one of the best closeup magicians I have ever
  27. seen. And yes, it takes a lot of practice. As an example, Harry does
  28. the Derek Dingle riffle pass. He does it so well that you can be
  29. looking at his hands after he tells you he is going to do the pass and
  30. you can't see it. So I asked him, what did it take to be able to do
  31. the pass that well? Harry told me that he took the bus to school and
  32. every day for a year he practiced the pass to and from school.
