- We are using some auto-mount config on our networked decstations with ultrix.
-
- Our home directories as defined in the passwd file are like: /home/franks
-
- This is symbolicly linked with the real/true directory /usr/users/franks,
- or /tmp-mnt/users/franks, depending on the network-machine.
-
- I would like to use "always" /home/franks and I get there when I use ~.
-
- But by default, when emacs starts up, I start with the "real" path: /users/franks.
-
- If I dired /users/franks and then dired ~, I get two different/separate
- dired buffers showing the same directory.
- Separate means that the dired buffer doesn't get updated if something has
- changed in the other.
-
- This seems independent of the "find-file-compare-truenames" setting.
-
- Is find-file in this sense different from dired?
-
- Regards, Frank.
