- The loss you state could be correct, however the monies I was referring

- were in relationship to the "loss of revenues" from the broken meters.
- These "loss of revenues" is derived NOT so much from the nickels and
- quarters from the meters, but from the fines imposed on expired meters.
- I don't know what the parking fines are in San Francisco, but I am
- certain the city collects thousands per month in fines alone.
- Monies are also generated for the towing and impounding of the vehicles.
- It is apparently BIG business. The additional expense of replacing
- the meters is also high, which is also added to the "loss of revenues".
