  18. -> Research has already been done on alcohol.  It is the prefered and

  22.  Brazil converted to alcohol about ten years ago.  They have few
  23. accessible petroleum supplies and rely mostly on imported fuel and oil,
  24. which doesn't help their foreign trade problems.

  26.  The Brazilian government subsidized production of alcohol, but a couple
  27. of years ago they finally relented and let the gas-burners back on the
  28. road.  Even in Brazil's typically warm weather there were starting
  29. problems, fuel economy stank, and despite subsidies the alcohol was
  30. quite expensive.
