  14. I decided not to quote any of the preceding messages.  Essentially, 
  15. the discussion is about whether Return of the Living Dead is part of 
  16. Romero's official 'Dead' universe.

  18. It is not related in any way to Dawn or Day, but rather seems to be a 
  19. parallel universe offering a different, more comical, approach to 
  20. Romero's basic premise.  In the first ROTLD, when the characters first 
  21. go to look at the zombies in the basement, one tells the other that 
  22. Night was based on a real incident, and that the zombies are the 
  23. outcome of that incident.  On the basis of this scene, I would 
  24. interpret it as being as a parody, or a parallel universe, rather than 
  25. a direct sequel.
