well, my friend mike knows dave tibet rather well (through continued
correspondance), and well, you guessed right, he is a pretty wierd guy...
he actually goes gravedigging and shit, and has various bone collections,
etc....he is really into 'capt. beefheart & his magic band', and will trade
you really rare 'current 93' items for any rare 'c.b.' stuff. when you think
about it, 'current 93' don't sound that much like 'nurse w/wound', except for
some occaisional weird instrumentalness...and dave tibet sounds like a cross
between bob dylan and gollum (from the hobbit movie)...but oh well...
lessee, i sure hope this damn newsgroup has improved a bit over time and has
branched somewhat from the "strictly gothic" crap...
for instance, i happened to have gotten the new 'and also the trees', "green
is the sea" about a month ago, so for those who didn't know, it's out...it's
nothing like their older stuff...it sounds more like "farewell to the shade".
and i just got the new 'einsturzende neubauten' ep "interim" today...it's o.k.it sounds like "haus der luge" with a tad more homemade instruments involved...
it even shows you the neat new instruments they've made (i wish i had
umlauts)...
and anyone who likes dave tibet/'current 93' & 'nurse w/wound' should get
their "the sadness of things" cd...pretty cool...and tibet's also got a book
out too, but good luck trying to find it...it's called "just being" or
"simply being" or something that...i don't know, i've only heard about it.
and if anyone's thinking about buying that new 'psychic t.v.' techno acid
house slab of crap 12", don't, it blows knob...and it's mostly just fred
gianelli doing it anyways...god, they used to be such a good band...sigh...
