  18. Well, actually, it's a statement of intent on behalf of the monks themselves.
  19. I've been to one of their concerts, and the same statement was made there,
  20. but got a bit of elaboration.  They don't "perform" in the sense that 
  21. other musicians do: ie. they aren't up there making those sounds so that you
  22. can hear them.  Rather, they happen to be doing something (praying
  23. through sound)
  24. that they do regularly, and you just happen to have been allowed to sit
  25. there and
  26. watch them go about their usual business.

  28. Which is pretty impressive to see & hear.  Wonderful drums.  Wonderful voices.
