- You ask a question which has been discussed pretty extensively over the
- years, Peggy. Statistical information, personal case histories, inputs
- from Federal and State Organizations have been cited, ad nauseum.

- We know that the current circumstances involve standards --either by
- income shares, national tables, or both, and they don't come close
- to reflecting equity between the parents either in terms of support
- amounts and or custody and visitation. It is the belief of many, and
- I include myself among them, that support, custody, and/or visitation
- should be decided wholly on a specific individual need basis that
- reflects the individual family, a recognized need for both parents
- to significantly participate in the child(ren's) life, and presump-
- tions which contain no 'traditionalist' gender values. (* the wife
- belonged at home, daddy out at work).

- There are a wide range of expertises available here. We have people
- from Legislative Advisory Committees, Lawyers, Guardians ad Litem,
- Social Services Workers, and 'plain folk' who've been through the
- system in one capacity or another.
