  21. I think that posting an encapsulated alt "checkgroups" to alt.config would
  22. be great.  By "encapsulated" I mean that it would not look like a checkgroups
  23. to the news transport -- it would only be executable if someone took it and
  24. fed it to their "inews" by hand.

  29. I'm not sure how (or whether) to respond to this.  If several of us want to
  30. get together and co-manage our news servers to avoid duplication of effort,
  31. how can that be construed as "control freakism"?  We are going to great
  32. lengths to make sure that noone receives the control messages without
  33. explicitly asking for them.  Is there more we could do to prevent insecure
  34. sysadmins from feeling unduly controlled?
