  10. My thanks to Othman bin Ahmad for responding to my earlier post.  I should 
  11. have posted from home with my machine in front of me, where I am now.
  12. In answer to Mr. Ahmad's questions:

  14. : connected properly (light comes on at boot-up), but, I get an error message
  15. : saying that the drive and/or card aren't ready.

  18. This would be just prior to the autoexec being executed.  I get a message
  19. indicating that the OEM CD driver is installed.  Then I get an error 
  20. message telling me that the card or the CD is not ready, ABORT OR RETRY?.
  21. As the drive is internal, sealed tightly and with no jumpers/switches visible, 
  22. the card is not ready.  I retry to no avail, then abort.

  57. Yes, but curiously, last PM, I discovered that my system thought that the
  58. CDROM was my "A" drive(!).  This stopped when I removed the data cable from the
  59. SBPRO.  I haven't had time to investigate why.  Previously, when I selected
  60. "RETRY" as stated above, at least the green light would come on.  The only 
  61. thing different was that I had changed the IO address jumper on the SBPRO
  62. from the default 220 to 240, and marked this in the autoexec.bat file.  
  63. Otherwise, the light on the drive comes on at boot-up, and during the
  64. config.sys boot-up.  The lines added to the config.sys and autoexec.bat are
  65. the ones suggested by the distributer, and unfortunately the only help that
  66. they can offer.
