- If your Mitsumi was not installed when you installed Windows, then Setup will
- put an entry into one of the *.ini files which looks like "CDAudio=0". Go into
- Control Panel - Drivers - Add and select [MCI] CD Audio as the driver to
- install. If it is already in your list of drivers, the trick is to REMOVE it and
- then RE-install it. You'll need your installation floppies from Windows, and
- you should have MSCDEX and the Mitsumi driver (MTMCD????.SYS) running for the
- driver install to detect the CD. When you're finished with re-start of Win3.1,
- check MediaPlayer in the Device menu -- it should now have a type for "CD Audio"
- in addition to the ones you had previously.
-
- Of course, this might not be the problem at all, but it has enabled me to play
- my audio CD's on my Mitsumi, and I get sounds out of my Groliers MPC
- Encyclopedia CD. I am not sure if Bookshelf and Nautilus work the same way, but
- this is a place to start.
