- I'm noticing a lot of WORM drives come onto the market for around
- $400. The deals seem almost too good to pass up, so I would like to
- get feedback on two specific WORM units:
-
- - Pioneer DD-S5101 (was under Optimem OEM)
- - Maxtor (don't have a model number, but it's the one that
- holds either 400 or 800 megs of data, and it's full height
- 5 1/4" form-factor)
-
- Has anyone had any experiences good or bad with these units? Can
- someone point me to a review of either of these WORM drives?
-
- Does someone know why these things are getting dumped on the market so
- cheaply?
-
- Finally, if anyone knows of a good source for large quantities of
- cheap medium for either device, I would like to know about it.
