  13. From out of one of the many shadowy corners of the bar known as Callahan's
  14. comes a somewhat familiar figure to some of the more regular patron's of
  15. 'the place'.  He is known as, 'The Nightstalker', not a Nightstalker, but The.
  16.  
  17. "Welcome one and all, fine members of the VR community.  I delurk, for better
  18. or worse.  I have been incommunicado (sp?) for a while, having been on a
  19. months holiday, and of late lurking with the k and c keys, and so know little
  20. of what is going on, or whom is about.  No doubt there are a few newbies, and so
  21. for their benefit, I will introduce myself.

  23. In RL I am a Phd student in theoretical astrophysics, looking at the radio 
  24. emission of colliding galaxies, and the effects on the interstellar medium, i.e.
  25. cosmic rays and magnetic fields.  I am an fundamentalist (by my own definition
  26. and that of many others, one who believes in what we see as the fundamentals),
  27. evangelical christian.  This, I have been told, makes it impossible for me to be
  28. a good physicist.  I disagree, believing that I can examine how things work, 
  29. knowing also the big WHY, behind it all (or at least a small part of it).
  30. I am known here for not being backward about expressing how my faith influences
  31. my thoughts on certain issues, and do not always express myself as well as I
  32. would like, but don't always expect to be agreed with.

  34. I see this group as an opportunity to get to know people I would otherwise not
  35. be able to know, and so I hope this year to renew old contacts and begin new
  36. ones.  Thus, I am buying for whoever is interested, and will take it from there,
  37. either by post or email."
