- I have never really quite understood why people want the signatures
- of 'famous' people. We were in Seattle once and we went by
- a record store and Laurie Anderson was signing records. The line
- was fairly short and I rather liked her at the time, and my friend
- asked if we should stop. My reaction was, "whatever for"? She
- would not have the time to engage in an even remotely interesting
- discussion, and the signature was an odd piece of idolatry that
- I have never really understood.
