  11. Mighty Fine. And A Great Big Winter Howdy.

  13. Rounder is tidying up the corner of the plAce where he has been lurking on and
  14. off for a while.  Well, folx, it's about time I put my affairs in order.  I'm
  15. going to be gone for a while, and I want to take care of a few things before I
  16. go.  I'm going to be net-deprived for about the next five weeks while I take a
  17. wilderness EMT course in New Hampshire.  I've been looking forward to this
  18. course for a while (two years actually), because I always feel underprepared in
  19. emergency situations, and if I'm going to be leading other people's children
  20. around in the middle of the wilderness, I damn well better know what I'm doing. 
  21. At the same time, the timing of this couldn't be worse.  I just moved into a
  22. new appartment, and my housemate and I have been looking for someone else to
  23. live with.  We need to find someone soon, because frankly, the rent is just two
  24. much for two people.  In a way, I feel like I'm dumping this problem on her, if
  25. we don't find someone before I leave.  I also feel guilty about leaving her
  26. with sobathedog; she said that she'd take care of him, but her time is tight as
  27. it is, and I don't want to burden her further with my problems.

  29. That said, let me offer a drink to our most recent newbies, Laz, MAURAUD,
  30. Magda-wolf, and Delilah, whom I have not yet greeted.  (and a round for anyone
  31. else who wishes it)  I've enjoyed my time in Callahans over the last couple of
  32. months, and look forward to rejoining y'all in March, hopefully as a liscensed
  33. EMT, qualified to save you all.  Should the urge strike you, snail mail will

  39. Before I go, I'd enjoy a last dance.  The floating dance floor appears again,
  40. having been in hiding for a while.  Rounder shouts "strike up the band!" and
  41. four men in polyester suits appear, playing what sounds like watered down Muzak
  42. versions of Abba's greatest hits.  "No, No, 'band!' B-A-N-D, no L in there at
  43. all!"  With that the men disappear, replaced by the house band, with
  44. (hopefully) Tanais on fiddle, who strike up a lively tune.  Anyone care to join
  45. me...
