- [ In which Jason introduces himself and Thyra to the Grey Lady and
- the Bard -- deleted for bandwidth purposes. ]
-
- >Jason clears his throat. "Ahem. Yes. Well, Grey Lady, can we buy a drink
- >for yourself and the Bard? We're certainly glad to meet new friends."
-
-
- The Bard smiles at the Grey Lady. "I had this feeling we'd confuse
- someone sooner or later. Me first?" The Grey Lady nods. "Ok - I've actually
- been here a while - you can blame Windsinger [Hi Rod, wherever you are!]
- for pointing me at the place a while back. As you might have guessed from
- the name, I'm something of a musician..." He frowns. "Which reminds me -
- who's collecting for the next Callahans Coffeehouse tape and would they
- like a couple of mine?" He grins. "Where was I? Oh yes. Me. And I'm getting
- married on June 5th to a wonderful person who I've known for over eight
- years..." He grins at the Grey Lady, while attempting to disentangle Luth
- from his arm. "Your turn..."
-
- The Grey Lady watches his struggle with a persistent blue
- firelizard with just a hint of a smirk, then turns back to Jason and
- Thyra. "Hmmm," she ponders. "Let's see - I've been in and out of here
- for several years, the latest absence caused by a loss of our news feed,
- which never has been restored [John, thanks for the maillist!], and a lack of
- time induced by my almost full-time return to school in addition to a full-
- time job and single-parenting an active 12-year-old son. The time burden
- hasn't eased, but I've gotten better at coordinating it all. I've known
- the Bard for several years, mostly through e-mail, though we've met in
- RL once and talked on the phone fairly often. And on June 5, I'll be
- at school and **very** annoyed at not being able to attend the wedding
- of two good friends of mine.
-
- "As for the drink -- certainly! I'll have a kahlua and coffee, and
- as soon as the Bard is free of Luth, he should have a hand free for
- a drink, too. It is a pleasure to meet both of you."
-
- She wanders to the VPM and puts in an order for a large canadian bacon
- and sauerkraut pizza, half with onions and garlic, to share with Jason
- and StM and anyone else who wants to try it.
