  20. disk drive.  StM explains the situation, and Carl says "It was just a head
  21. crash, so it ought to work."  He then proceeds to dismember the drive.  He
  22. removes the spindle, carefully catching a few small bits of metal, and hands
  23. the latter to StM.  StM carries them over to Laz, and says, "Well, I know these
  24. aren't *YOUR* bearings, but Carl said to give them to you in case they'll help."
  25. Only to discover that he's been beaten to the punch, as:
