  17. Yes, something like that is possible.  Some friends of mine (Swedish
  18. also) did that this summer.  It wasn't from a commercial rental agency
  19. but from a private party.  The person had moved to Los Angeles, and
  20. didn't want to drive his car all the way.  Apparently, this is
  21. not uncommon, and my friends were able to make plans for this before
  22. arriving in the US.
