- Peter, you are indeed correct, Fidgeting uses 72 character subject
- lines. Not only that, Fido also uses 36 character name fields (for
- the TO: and FROM: fields).
-
- So, looks like there are some minimal deficiencies in that area to
- correct.
-
- While I am here, I would like to reiterate a request to move
- unproductive flames on this topic to another subject line. I am all
- for productive exchanges on this or any other topic, and given the
- existence of ONEBBS, there is definitely more than one person
- interested in developing an all encompassing BBS standard, but
- splitting hairs to the subatomic level on personal biases is
- unnecessary.
-
- Those who do develop doors and BBSes are very welcome to comment and
- suggest corrections or more inclusions for the proposal... it can't
- come into being without the support of those who need it. It is a
- practical standard and its development to date has occurred over
- several months via open discussion between door authors and BBS
- operators on the Fidgeting and Doornet (Fidgeting compatible
- Othernet<tm>) networks.

- Will.
