- Well it could be one of two things....

- The files might be compressed, if they have an extension, other than .txt
- they probally are wich case they would need to be uncompressed via the
- appropriat program. or....

- you could have down loaded them wrong, maybe as binary instead of ascii
- which case you could reget (if thats a word) them but type asii before you
- download.

- But the best bet is to mail the person who gave you the address they would
- probally know the format kept at the ftp site.
