  26. I think the original charter of this newsgroup was as a forum for 
  27. the "Bacchus" organization, a group of college students advocating
  28. responsible drinking, designated drivers, and the like.  Either the
  29. organization disbanded, or they just stopped posting articles.
  30. Alt.bacchus has remained mostly vacant every since.
