-
- Bacchus, also known as Dionysus (from Greek and Roman mythology), was the
- god of wine. He led a "religion", which celebrated nature and fertility
- through wine and orgies. Church services must have been a blast.
-
- This newsgroup seems to be for the purpose of discussing wine,
- but it does not appear to get much traffic. We could try
- to get it going, however.

- Those symbols are called emoticons. They emphasize how you are feeling
- about what you write. :-) is a sideways smiley face. (turn your
- head to the left - see it?) It's used to indicate you are smiling
- when you write something. You can call someone a jerk, add a :-),
- and hopefully what you said will be interpreted as a joke. There
- are hundreds of them, and new ones being created all the time.
- Unfortunately, they don't mean the same thing to everyone ;-).
- ;-) is a guy winking, btw.
