  34. There is something else I could never fathom. Why can't theists believe
  35. that the universe simply exists, without a concious creator? They can
  36. easily believe that god exists without a creator; why not the universe
  37. too and remove one layer of complexity?

  39. I don't claim to know how the universe came about, but I am very sure
  40. that it was not by some "concious" power who purposely created it.
