  14. My husband just found out he has lung cancer.  His mother just had a breast
  15. and some lymph nodes removed.  I have MS, and so does my mom, so I get to
  16. see just what shape I will be in in 25 or so years.  My dad has lost 95%
  17. of his vision due to some weird inflammatory retinal process.  My best
  18. friend's husband moved out, about 2 years after she bore him a daughter
  19. with Down's syndrome.  My sister's husband discovered his back pain was
  20. due to a spina bifida-like vertebral defect (inoperable, of course).
  21. My stepdaughter's recent Pap smear contains some very odd-looking cells.
  22. (Her grandfather is dying of heart disease.)  I'll skip the usual 
  23. angstogens, y'all can fill in the blanks.

  25. Most of this happened in the last month or two.

  27. If I read one more post about cheering up, my head will truly explode.
