  27. At least one other soc. sci. person here. And proud of it. I've had it up to
  28. here with those who equate "hard" science with "difficult to learn" science.
  29. Christ, they have the wrong definition of "hard"!

  31. More on this later. But for now, I must recover from yet another period
  32. of excess ... dark nights ... unpaid bills ... poker debts ... a lucky hand
  33. at 3:45a.m. that allowed me to slink away only $200 in the hole ... three
  34. empty bottles of Wild Turkey rolling around the floorboard when the highway
  35. patrol pulled us over in a snowstorm just outside Truckee, CA ... repeated
  36. requests to for us to turn the car stereo down ... "Censorshit" by the 
  37. Ramones too good to turn down ... "step out of the car" ... luckily, no search
  38. ... DUI test performed rapidly on account of bruising wind ... getting away
  39. with a speeding ticket, but being forced to put on chains while the cretin
  40. sat in his car and watched ... down the mountain to Davis ... back to school
  41. ... back to the Anthropology Department.
