  10. I've performed a series of experiments and something is
  11. stripping blanks from mail messages:
  12.  
  13. 1. Sent a message containing:
  14.  
  15. aaaaaaaaaaa
  16.            
  17. bbbbbbbbbbb
  18.  
  19. to myself via UUCP%"munroe@dmc.com"
  20.  
  21. The "blank" line had been filled with spaces.
  22.  
  23. 2. Checked the spool file, it had spaces in it.
  24.  
  25. 3. Checked the copy self copy delivered by mail.  IT had spaces
  26. in it.
  27.  
  28. 4. When UUCP/MX delivered the mail, the spaces were gone.
  29.  
  30. So a few questions:
  31.  
  32. (1) is my experiment bogus?
  33. (2) Does DECUS UUCP (or MX, since that's REALLY the entity that
  34. had the message last) strip blanks?
  35. (3) Is this behavior legal?
  36. (4) Should it be stopped?
  37.  
  38. The following is the message I received.  I don't know if it's MX
  39. or UUCP that's loosing the blanks.
