-
- Nope -- it emulates RP02 drives. Jeff, the original poster, and I got
- the emulex card to work with each of the 5300 drives (so we know all the
- hardware involved works). We cannot get the Dilog DU202 controller to format
- a 5300, because we do not know the format of the header table required
- in memory at the commencement of formnatting. The manual does not tell the
- format for the sector size byte, or the overall organization of the header
- table. Dilog won't tell us either, only offering to sell a disk that has a
- format program on it for $250 (more than the whole 80meg SMD drive is worth,
- if you ask me).
-
- So, we still ask to hear from anyone with experience (or at this point,
- anyone willing to sell an SMD controller an SMD controller with good doc's
- and/or formatting software useable with a Kennedy 5300 3-platter SMD drive).
-
- Thanks a bunch,
