  13. My first impulse, on reading this thread, was to wonder why Zelany has
  14. so much trouble finding someone clever to challenge him.

  16. My next impulse was to respond to the invoking of "Hitler" by writing
  17. a note saying that the other sure sign of a degenerating thread was
  18. the invoking of "Ayn Rand"; then I saw the invocation of Ayn Rand.

  20. Now I'm back to my first impulse: why are all of Mr. Zelany's
  21. antagonists so, well, so...non-clever?
