  22. Catastrophism is more or less orthogonal to the evolution/creation debate.

  24. I myself come closer to being a creationist;  I certainly don't speak for
  25. other catastrophists in this.

  27. Which is not to say that I believe in a 6000 year old earth or that I do not
  28. believe in <any> evolution.  I believe that a LOT of evolution has taken
  29. place, and that the universe itself is very old.  I do not believe that our
  30. complex lifeforms are traceable back to dust via evolution, and I do not
  31. believe that there is any way of demonstrating the multi-million year
  32. timeframes commonly given out for ages of life on this earth.
