  18. days of the Clamshell Alliance, and I constantly hear claims
  19. that we are afraid of nuclear plants going up like a nuclear
  20. bomb, and claims that we don't know how nuclear plants work.

  23. handful of people who I would not hesitate to classify as
  24. flakes.  And yet, not *one* of these people thought that
  25. a nuclear plant would go up like a nuclear bomb.

  28. a nuclear plant works.  And really, it's not all that hard
  29. to understand -- it's taught in middle school science class!
  30. (The particulars of nuclear engineering are trickier, of course,
  31. but that's hardly germane.)

  37. =o= I'm sorry to hear that, since it confirms that a Big Lie,
  38. repeated often enough, will be convincing.  Nobody here has
  39. provided any evidence of actual violence being perpetrated
  40. by Greenpeace.

  42. =o= And, by the way, that includes the "Totally Real Video"
  43. segment, which somebody reported seeing with their own eyes
  44. as evidence of Greenpeace sinking ships.  I've heard from
  45. a number of sources -- one within Greenpeace and three from
  46. the net -- that (1) the show was actually "Eyewitness Video,"
  47. and (2) the video depicted not Greenpeace, but the Sea Shepherd
  48. Society (as I'd suggested).
