  11.      My brother is in Europe for Christmas on the Saint Mary's/
  12. Notre Dame program in Rome.  I sent him an early Christmas present
  13. of one Eurail pass.  So my brother hit the rails of Europe, going
  14. wherever the mood took him, sometimes with other students but more
  15. often alone, meeting the Europeans first hand.  My brother being a
  16. devastatingly charming individual when he wants to be, he never
  17. spent a whole trip by himself.  He's lived a disgustingly cinematic,
  18. not to mentioned charmed, life. 
  19.      Come Christmas, he was on an overnight train with three Saint
  20. Mary's students (sometimes I get jealous of my brother, really) on
  21. his way to Prague from Vienna.  He had a sleeping compartment to
  22. himself on one car, because his seat-mate had fallen sick back in
  23. Rome, while the women were in a different car.  They celebrated
  24. Christmas Eve in the dining car, and then retired.
  25.      That night, someone entered the sleeping car my brother was in.
  26. Armed with a passkey, they entered every compartment in turn, used
  27. a spray can of ether on the sleeping passengers, and ransacked the
  28. valuables compartments.  They then left all passports, visas, and
  29. other forms of identification in the bathroom, neatly organized by
  30. room number.
  31.      They got $300 cash and $500 in traveler's checks from my brother.
