- Today I was awakened by my SO at 2.30 in the afternoon.
-
- I eventually left the bedroom, and as usual turned on my
- computer, and thought about what I needed to do.
-
- "The stats, the stats" my eructing hindbrain screamed. So I did
- those, and posted them, and hoped that people realised that
- posting as 'Butt Head from itchytoad@pineal.collapse.com" and
- "Butt Head from smeal@lychees.in.aspic" would generate two
- entries in the list.
-
- Afterwards I thought some more about the problem, and elided 75%
- of talk.bizarre's stats because I couldn't be bothered trying to
- work out if a 50K posting would actually make it through my site
- and out into the network. Around 6pm, after cleaning out my old
- email and answering those that needed answering, I got around to
- calling up my newsfeed site, and collecting the days news. Well
- I wasn't surprised when I found I had about two hundred articles
- instead of the normal 1200 or so, in my static yet variable list
- of newsgroups that I import. Alt.flame has really gone down the
- drain ever since the common market decided to give free accounts
- to anyone who applied, and those people decided that lighting up
- the group with their idiotic concept of 'flames' was a cool idea
- or at least something worthwhile. Not that I'm an apologist for
- alt.flame and its players, I just need to expand my paragraph so
- that it was obviously aligned, as though it happened by accident
- instead of being planned. I think that is clear, and pointless.
