  11. On Sunday I was skiing at Purgatory, which is a ski area near Durango,
  12. which is near my in-laws' ranch.  Beautiful scenery, tolerable crowds
  13. (although with a distinct Texas accent), decent snow.
  14.  
  15. The names of the runs, at least on the older part of the ski area,
  16. follow the theme:  Cherub, Paradise, Hades, Styx.  I was pretty sure
  17. that last year I'd skiied a great bump run called 666, but I couldn't
  18. find it on the map.

  20. "Oh, yes," drawled the woman on the chairlift, "they changed that one
  21. this year.  It's called No Mercy now.  I heard they got some objections
  22. from a Christian group.  Number of the devil, and all that."
