- Still feeling a chill that had been plaguing me since the day
- before, I fall asleep shortly after the obligatory dinner.
-
- I am looking intently at a map, showing part of what I have some
- reason to think is Oklahoma, showing a region containing several
- land-locked lakes. Multiple labels show the changing position of
- towns or other landmarks as the lakes shrink over time. I recall
- looking at a place name with four or five letters, starting with J.
-
- I am reading a newspaper clipping, showing a lanky, white-skinned
- man. The story relates that "Jamie Can Con Lee" (approximate)
- regrets that he will not be joining a team in Toronto (basketball,
- I assume from the photograph) because "Gee, my wife will miss all
- her friends."
-
- A white-haired man is intoning something regretfully, apparently
- in reference to a girl who is disappointed by the above.
-
- Something that might be blood but looks more like runny strawberry
- jam washes over a small section of tile wall. I hear a creaking
- in the room and wake up. I am no longer afflicted by the chill.
