- Last week my band played at the Off Ramp, a combination
- cafe and live music club. Apparently, some hotshot salesman
- managed to sell them a spiffy touch-screen food ordering system.
- It was way cool. Here's how it went:
-
- I went up to the screen, and entered my order (burger, with
- cheddar, peppers, and a side of fries). I entered my name, and
- took two steps over to the kitchen window. The guy there looked
- down at his terminal.
- "Are you Ben?" yup. "Burger?" yup. "Cheddar?" yup. "Peppers?" yup.
- "Fries?" yup.
- As he was reading my order off of the screen, he was writing it
- down on a piece of paper, which he handed to the cook.
-
- I love living in the future. Can't get enough of it.
