- There is a rest area just north of where I work on route 495. For some
- reason when I pass it going southbound I always see trucks parked on
- the side of the road a few hundred feet before it, and likewise there
- are often trucks parked on the northbound side a few hundred feet after
- it.

- For a long time I thought nothing of it, but lately I've wondered
- whether there is some genius who knows exactly how rest areas are
- supposed to be laid out and this one was misplaced by some civil
- engineer who had a few too many the night before. Most vehicles hit it
- right on, so maybe they were just testing the tolerances.

- Because my building will be shutting down over the holidaze I won't be
- posting here for a couple of weeks. Not that I think anyone will rue
- or even notice my absence, but mentioning it seemed the trendy thing to
- do.
